  • Dynamic, real-time bass equalization maximizes bass response while minimizing distortion

5.1 Speakers        Rating:

Very nice set of speakers sound it is uotloud i'use for my pc at home i like these speakers in the future if i need I'will buy another set of the same brand happy still have it,recomend to everyone. good deal for price.

Music the way it should be heard !!        Rating:

I ordered the Logitech X-530 5.1 Speaker System so I could listen to my I-pod. I never would have imagined that the sounds would be so loud and clear...I am so happy that I bought this speaker system that I recommended it to my friends so they can enjoy their music too!!! Oooh yeah and I purchased mine used, its beautiful, you can't beat the price!!

Pretty Good        Rating:

At first I thought the speakers had no dimension in the mid range. I was straining to find any of the harmonies in selected pieces of music....individual instruments were impossible to define...

But after a substantial break-in period, (a few months), I'm much happier with them. These would be ok for a starter set, for anyone who isn't an overly discriminating audiophile, you can at least get a good thump from the powered bass for dancing, and be sure to use software that has an equalizer to maximize your sound quality.

A great buy, but it's a little noisy!        Rating:

The Logitech X-530 5.1 Speaker System is a great buy for both the price and the quality. However, there was one strange problem! Just like any speakers, they would pick up reception from a radio. Though, unlike most speakers, the Logitech X-530 5.1 Speaker System played back the intercepted radio transmission so clearly that it would sometimes make it difficult to listen to videos and music. This could just be a personal problem as of where I'm located and whether or not my cell phone is too close to the speakers. It's not worth not buying the speakers, because they're great, but if you don't like hearing the comforting noise of Spanish radio playing in the background, you're out of luck!

Best Speakers for the Price        Rating:

These speakers are easy to hook up. Everything is color coded. The speakers are wall-mountable, but not the center channel. I wish the center channel could sit on your monitor, or be wall-mountable. I read some reviews that complain about the weak mesh over the satellites. They do seem weak, but none of them have ever ripped for the time I've had these.

The subwoofer is definitely overpowering if you turn the subwoofer control all the way up. The subwoofer knob is on the back of the subwoofer, definitely inconvenient. Also, the lowest setting is still sometimes overpowering for some songs. There is also an annoying port noise when the speakers are turned up. The subwoofer can shake walls and desks. Not very much, but if you're playing some music pretty loudly, and you put your hand on the wall, it will be vibrating.

The main speaker with controls is your front right speaker. This is a bit inconvenient, because if you wall-mount it, you have to reach over to control the volume. It would be better if there was a little control pad with volume and bass control. Also, there is a headphone jack on the main speaker, which is definitely convenient, but the thing about it is that when you plug in headphones, the volume knob nor the power button on the main speaker don't do anything for the headphone jack. Because of that, I have to go into my computer's volume settings.

The satellite speakers will tip over if nudged a little bit. They don't stand up very well, but they are pretty sturdy, because I've knocked over my speakers plenty of times, and they all work fine. The rear speaker wires are too short, but that can be fixed with cheap extension cords from RadioShack or somewhere else. I believe the rear speaker wires are 15 feet. I'm not sure though.

Now for the purpose of the speakers. These speaker have a pretty nice sound. The subwoofer definitely blends in nicely with the satellites. Though, I have to say they do lack a little bit of midrange. If you're not an audiophile it won't bother you at all. For movies, the center channel does help. All of the dialogue comes out of it. I guess it's supposed to represent a person talking to you from the front. The subwoofer is wonderful for action movies. All the explosions and bangs that come out of the subwoofer make you feel like you're really there.

These speakers are excellent for gaming. When someone walks behind you, the footstep sounds will come out of your rear speakers, then you will know instantly that they're there.

Pros:
Easy Setup
Good Sound Quality
Durable Speakers
Wall-mountable
Headphone Jack
Subwoofer Control

Cons:
Subwoofer dial is located on the back of the subwoofer
Rear speaker wires are too short
Subwoofer Port Noise
Center channel is not wall-mountable/monitor-mountable
Satellites fall over easily

I still give these speakers 5 stars because the pros make up for the cons.
I most definitely recommend these speakers to anyone who is looking for a 5.1 set in this price range.
